Long hair: the must-have trends for spring-summer 2023

Spring-Summer 2023 marks the return of very long hair, below the shoulders, with supple movements and beautiful layers. We find a strong inspiration of the 2000s, with tousled-styled effects and stripes on the side. Adrien talks about a return to the “bed head” effect and ultra-natural hair.

  • The octopus haircut : a mixture of grunge and glamorous style, to wear with a vaporous fringe and a well degraded line. The lengths should be long enough to fall over the shoulders and upper back.
  • The “V shaped” haircut with shorter locks in the front of the face and long hair in the back. A magnificent haircut on straight hair, but also on curly or wavy hair.
  • The butterfly haircut or “butterfly haircut” : very layered long hair, which gives the illusion of butterfly wings at the edges of the face. A haircut often worn with curtain bangs and the locks that frame the oval styled outward from the face, it is also called butterfly bangs.
  • Long hair with unstructured bangs, short or long. We also note the return of the “baby bang” both straight and very hatched.
  • Brigitte Bardot style bangslong and layered to bring out the line of the cheekbones.

Square cuts and trendy mid-length cuts for spring-summer 2023

This spring-summer, we will no longer be in the ultra-degraded squares and shag cuts of previous seasons, but in something softer and more subtle. The square cuts display clean lines and pretty volumes and the gradient is worked by small touch at the level of the bangs, the locks of coverage or the framing of the face.

  • The long square : it is worn around the collarbones with an ultra-smooth mirror-effect material for a very chic graphic effect.
  • The asymmetrical bob : a square cut at the level of the jaw line and worn with a side parting to display a subtle asymmetrical effect.
  • The shaggy bob cut : it is worn with long, rounded bangs that bring softness to the face and emphasize the line of the cheekbones.
  • The box bob : a plunging bob cut, short and quite textured, often worn with a wavy effect.

The flagship short cuts of spring-summer 2023

The short cut is available in a multitude of versions this spring-summer. We find it ultra-short, but also very degraded or longer on the top of the head. The flagship short haircut of the season? The “mixie” cut which brings a glamorous and sophisticated touch to the hair.

  • The “mixed” cut : a mix between a mullet cut and a pixie cut. An ultra-trendy look that we have already spotted on Casa de Papel actress Ursula Corbero, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus.
  • The very short pixie cut unstructured spotted on actress Carla Díaz from the Elite series.
  • The short undercut : a very versatile cut that can be styled to the side, forward but that can also be buffed or textured as desired.
