German stars in the Berlinale competition
The German filmmakers Andreas Dresen (60) and Matthias Glasner (59) are also presenting new works in the festival’s competition. In Dresen’s “In Love, Your Hilde,” “Babylon Berlin” star Liv Lisa Fries (33) plays a resistance fighter in World War II. Glasner, however, was able to win stars Lars Eidinger (48), Corinna Harfouch (69) and Ronald Zehrfeld (47) for “Die”. “Euphoria” star Hunter Schafer (25) plays the main role in the horror film “Cuckoo”. Riley Keough (34) and Jesse Eisenberg (40) appear in the absurd comedy “Sasquatch Sunset”, Amanda Seyfried (38) can be seen in Atom Egoyan (63) “Seven Veils”.
The jury
The jury president for this year’s Berlinale is Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (“12 Years a Slave”, 40). Together with the jury members Christian Petzold (63), Brady Corbet (35), Ann Hui (76), Oksana Sabuschko (63), Albert Serra (48) and Jasmine Trinca (42), Nyong’o decides on the award of the gold and the Silver Bear.
