2024 - Stella Belmondo: why she missed the Cesar 2022 ceremony

This Friday, February 25, Canal+ broadcast the 47th Cesar ceremony. During the evening, the world of cinema wanted to salute the memory of Jean-Paul Belmondo. A tribute which the daughter of the deceased actor could not attend live. An absence that the young woman justified on her Instagram account.

Like every year, the Césars pay tribute to the actors who left us during the previous year. And this Friday, February 25, after having opened the 47th French cinema awards ceremony by saluting the memory of Gaspard Ulliel, who died a few weeks earlier, the master of ceremonies Anthony of Caunesrendered a vibrant tribute to the legend Jean-Paul Belmondo. The latter died on September 6 at the age of 88. A tragic disappearance for French cinema.

During the ceremony, Antoine de Caunes therefore launched a magneto retracing the incredible career of “Bébel”, with images that greatly touched viewers. “Beautiful tribute to Belmondo, the whirlwind of life, his smiles and our tears”, “The whole room crying after the tribute to Belmondo”, “No, I absolutely did not flood my living room for the tribute to Jean -Paul Belmondo”, “The tribute to Jean Paul Belmondo with the music of the professional had me at the end”we could for example read on social networks.

And during the evening, Internet users notably noticed that Stellathe daughter of Jean-Paul Belmondo, was not present in the room. An astonishing absence that the 18-year-old young woman justified this Saturday, February 26, on her Instagram account. Stella Belmondo thus revealed in a publication why she could not attend the ceremony. “Unfortunately I had the Covid”, she explained in the caption of several photos of her. Isolated at home to avoid spreading her disease, the young woman received many messages of support from her subscribers to help her overcome this ordeal.
