(CercleFinance.com) – Stellantis announced this weekend the launch of several Fiat brand models in Algeria. Thus, from March 21, the Fiat500 Hybrid, Fiat500X, Fiat Tipo, Fiat Doblò, Fiat Scudo and Fiat Ducato models will be available on the Algerian market.
This decision will contribute to the development of the automotive sector in Algeria, with a major plan integrating the local production of Fiat models in Tafraoui, Oran, as well as the creation of a strong sales and after-sales service network, indicates the manufacturer. .
In this context, the construction of the Tafraoui plant, in the wilaya of Oran, will end in August 2023. With a total amount of more than 200 million euros, the first wave of investments, made by Stellantis and its suppliers, will produce four models, starting with the FIAT500 in December 2023
By 2026, this initiative will create nearly 2,000 new local jobs, with a localization rate of more than 30% and an annual production capacity of 90,000 vehicles.
