PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The general meeting of shareholders of Stellantis on Wednesday rejected the resolution on remuneration by 52%, an advisory vote but which the group will have to take into account, according to its chairman John Elkann.

“It is important for us to reward performance. It is part of the values of Stellantis to be a meritocracy”, underlined John Elkann at the end of the vote, adding that the board of directors would nevertheless take this opinion into account. .

Several shareholders and unions had challenged before the general meeting the amount of the salary of the general manager of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares. Including variable compensation and free share allocations, this amounts to 19.1 million euros in 2021.
