(CercleFinance.com) – STMicroelectronics on Wednesday detailed the terms of its collaboration with Microsoft in the field of application security related to the Internet of Things (IoT).
The chipmaker said it will integrate its ultra-low-power STM32U5 microcontrollers with Azure RTOS, Microsoft’s real-time operating system for IoT devices and peripherals.
Built around Arm Cortex-M processors, STM32 microcontrollers are intended for industrial control equipment, communication terminals and other systems for managing connected cities and infrastructures.
STMicroelectronics also announced on Wednesday that it has created with AWS, Amazon’s ‘cloud’ subsidiary, a new benchmark around the free open source operating system FreeRTOS to securely connect IoT devices to the AWS platform.
