The start date for the fourth season “Stranger Things” seems to be getting closer and closer. According to producer Shawn Levy, it should be “soon”.

A specific date for the start of the fourth season of the Netflix hit “Stranger Things” has still not been set. Nevertheless, producer Shawn Levy (53) has now announced a few more details about the new episodes and hoped to see Elf and her friends again soon. “We shot in Georgia, Lithuania and New Mexico, so it’s enough for me to say that season four is bigger,” he reveals to the industry journal “Variety”.

“It’s visually and narrative very ambitious, much more ambitious than in the previous three seasons,” says Levy. The fact that the start of the season is always postponed is due, on the one hand, to the corona pandemic, and on the other hand to the complex shoot. The team decided together to make the new season “much bigger”. That of course takes time, says Levy and at the same time promises: “It will come soon enough. And when exactly that will be announced – very soon.”

First teaser and new colleagues

In May of this year, Netflix released the first trailer for the upcoming season. This shows several children in hospital clothing and with their hair clipped in a kind of laboratory. A familiar picture for series lovers. Because that’s exactly how the main character Elf looks in the first season. The teaser shows a man from behind who approaches the children – here too it seems clear: It must be Martin Brenner, who was believed to be dead. A doctor who’s done experiments on kids like Elf. In the background the heavy panting of a girl can be heard – the camera pans to a door marked “11”. “Eleven, are you listening?” Asks Brenner. Then the frightened eyes of Millie Bobby Brown (17), the actress from Elf, can be seen before the trailer comes to an end.

In addition, the streaming service introduced four new actors in June who joined the well-known cast around Brown, Gaten Matarazzo (18), Finn Wolfhard (18), Caleb McLaughlin (19), Noah Schnapp (16) and Sadie Sink (19 ) will be joined by: Amybeth McNulty (19), Myles Truitt (19), Grace Van Dien (24) and Regina Ting Chen.

In August 2020, the Duffer brothers, who wrote the series, in an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter” clear: “Season four will not be the end.”
