“Rings of Power”: Amazon starts with a double episode
The series, whose first season will consist of eight episodes, has the reputation of being a real blockbuster. The production, including film rights, is said to have devoured around one billion euros. That would be a new record in the overheating spiral of ever more elaborate productions.
To celebrate the start of the series, Amazon is making two episodes accessible. Further episodes will then follow at intervals of one week on Fridays, but not in a double pack and only from 6 a.m. The season 1 finale is scheduled for October 14, 2022.
“The Lord of the Rings” series: Journey into the past of Middle-earth
In order to avoid disappointment – or at least unpleasant surprises – it is important to know that “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is not a sequel to the “Lord of the Rings” films. Rather, the action takes place several thousand years earlier and revolves around the rise of Sauron and the forging of the Rings of Power. Many already known characters have to oppose evil in order to get a future for Middle-earth.
In total, the series includes more than 20 main roles. Galadriel is played by Welsh actress Morfydd Clark and Elrond by British actress Robert Aramayo.
