Discussions are currently taking place to offer Apple TV+ And Paramount+ in a single common subscription.

Streaming services have multiplied in recent years, seeking to take advantage of a paid streaming model initiated by the undisputed leader in the sector, Netflix. Since then, consumers have seen numerous catalogs appear before them, from which they can choose. But when he is interested in several of them, the bill tends to quickly increase. And it is to respond to this problem that two giants will perhaps start working together.

Together, to be cheaper than separately

When you have two or three online streaming subscriptions, you start to complain about the prices, especially since they are currently tending to increase. So, instead of seeing mass unsubscribes, Apple and Paramount had another idea.

Indeed, according to the Wall Street Journal, the two firms would have entered into discussions in order to be able to create a joint offer including Apple TV + and Paramount +. The idea is to be able to offer a price lower than the sum of the two current subscriptions.

A model destined to become widespread?

The idea could both reduce potential churn during this period of inflation, when consumers are more price-conscious, but also attract new customers. In France, Apple TV+ costs 9.99 euros per month, and Paramount+ costs 7.99 euros per month. If the discussions were successful, it could be that an offer of around fifteen euros per month could emerge.

The model is not new. In the United States, the telecommunications giant Verizon therefore aims to be able to offer Netflix at the same time, in its version containing advertisements, but also the Max platform, resulting from the merger of HBO Max and Discovery+. According to Reutersthis would be billed at the rate of 10 dollars per month, while the sum of the two services should normally cost 17 dollars monthly.

Should we in the future see all the streaming giants try the adventure of the joint offer? What if one day, we saw the emergence of a proposal integrating Disney+, Netflix and Prime Video?
