With her “turkey technique”, a 20-year-old woman from Rouen has found an implacable parade against street harassment. His video posted on social media has reached 4.5 million views.
A simple “no” is no longer enough. This is the sad observation of many women and especially Sarah in the face of the scourge of street harassment.
Between insistent dredgers, followers or even clingy individuals, “Sarah la Crieuse”, as she calls herself on social networks, shared an effective technique to repel men. By filming with her smartphone playing the “turkey” in front of an urgent man, the young woman went around the web.
Funny and surprising, Sarah’s reaction still follows some traumatic experiences. “I have known a lot of attacks, men who follow me. When you are mean to them, the men are violent, and when you are too nice, they can follow you down to your house and know your address … So now I tell myself that it is better to do a little the crazy girl !” she told Actu.fr.
And the Rouennaise is not at its first attempt. For several months, she has been testing multiple eccentric procedures, from sea lions to cats, including the “T-Rex” technique.
If these whimsical animal cries manage to disconcert and ward off stalkers, Sarah remains cautious. “I still manage to identify the guys who are potentially dangerous … And in these cases, I trace!”, She admits.
