On Thursday, Verdi wants to largely paralyze eleven German airports with a one-day strike by security staff. Now the next strike is already looming. The flight attendant union UFO has broken off collective bargaining negotiations with Lufthansa.

There could soon be a new strike at Lufthansa – among the cabin crew. Because the flight attendant union UFO has broken off collective bargaining. “The last offer from Lufthansa is also not enough,” it said in a circular to members.

There are no further negotiation dates. UFO also signaled their willingness to strike. “A union’s sharpest sword is so obvious that we don’t even need to say it separately,” it said. “But one thing is clear: we are prepared to take the path of the last resort.”

Most recently, flight attendants and pilots went on strike together at the Lufthansa subsidiary, the holiday airline Discover Airlines, on Friday. In addition, the Verdi union largely paralyzed operations at eleven German airports with a one-day industrial action among security personnel on Thursday.
