Stronger than Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson? This star of 50 action films will soon be back in the cinema?

When will we see Jason Statham in the cinema again? After the disappointments “In Very Troubled Waters” and “Expendables 4”, will the action star wow us again?

After the disappointing In Very Troubled Waters and Expendables 4, will Jason Statham return in an action film worthy of the name? Aged 56, is the British actor starting to soften? If we are to believe the trailer for his latest project, that’s not the case at all!

Jason is scared!

With The Beekeeper, Jason Statham is back on track, the film having been a success on American soil since its release last January. It has grossed 65 million dollars in the USA and more than 150 million internationally so far. Directed by David Ayer, to whom we owe Fury and Suicide Squad, The Beekeeper does not yet have a French release date.

Jason Statham plays Adam Clay. His revenge takes on a national dimension after he is revealed to be a former agent of a powerful underground organization known as the “Beekeepers.” The charismatic Brit has another project with David Ayer in the works: Levon’s Trade.

Currently in pre-production, this film should mark the reunion between Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone after Expendables 4. However, they should not act as each other because Stallone would only be responsible for the script.

Stallone writes, Statham fights!

Statham will slip into the costume of Levon Cade, a repentant criminal who now works in construction. Soon his boss’s daughter, Jenny, disappears, and he is called upon to reuse the skills that made him a legendary figure in the world of covert operations. Filming on Levon’s Trade is expected to begin in spring 2024 in London.

Note that this film will mark the return to the screenplay of Sylvester Stallone, his last scripts dating back to Rambo Last Blood in 2019 and Creed II in 2018. Levon’s Trade is precisely an adaptation of a comic book by Chuck Dixon, the first in a series of successful comics across the Atlantic.

Obviously, we will also see Jason Statham again in Fast and Furious 11, the latest installment of the supercharged action franchise. He will reprise his role as Deckard Shaw alongside Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa. At the moment, we do not know if a sequel to the Hobbs & Shaw spin-off will also see the light of day.
