Students have to wait – Where are our laptops, Minister?

A year ago, the first discounted laptops were handed over to schoolchildren in Linz – the Minister of Education at the time, Heinz Faßmann, traveled from Vienna to the Ramsauer-Gymnasium for this purpose. The Minister of Education no longer exists today – neither does the promised equipment. Because of the 27,010 computers promised for Upper Austria alone, 6,000 are still missing. And this despite the fact that the school subject “digital basic education” is on the timetable for the first time this year. Now it is up to successor Martin Polaschek to keep the promise. Why the laptops are still not there – the “Krone” asked the Ministry of Education.
