Created seven years ago, Studio Jiminy offers training in the field of photography. But beware, not just any old way: its founders are convinced that learning goes above all through education of the gaze, almost considering technique as secondary.

No jargon

The subjects covered are then as varied as they are interesting. The training is provided by an expert in his field. The one on image composition, for example, is presented by Michael Freeman, a photographer recognized as an expert in the field. Among the great successes of Studio Jiminy are the courses on animal photography as well as the realization of landscapes.

Admittedly, the form is not as refined there as in the most recent courses, but the themes tackled remain relevant, like the famous “decisive moment” theorized by Henri Cartier-Bresson or the realization of furtive photographs.

Beyond classic training, Studio Jiminy regularly offers Photojams. Declined around a specific theme, they include training, sessions live to follow on the Net as well as a photographic challenge ending with a reading of images (pros share their opinion on the images of the participants).
Instead of selling its training individually, Studio Jiminy opted for a Netflix model. The entire catalog is accessible with a monthly subscription of € 14.90. Another possibility is the annual subscription billed at 149 €, or 99 € during the holiday season.
Obviously, the formula has appealed since Studio Jiminy still claims 3,000 active users. Not bad for a small Franco-French box!
