A lot of clever people are concerned with how children become happier. But what about us mommies? According to the study, our happiness is pretty easy to find.

Being a mother is great. It makes the world more colorful, livelier, crazier and, in the best sense of the word, completely different. But let’s be honest, it also makes the world more stressful. Sometimes in the evening I imagine how many mothers are falling on the sofa with me sighing at the same time, hoping that no one shouts “MAMAAAAA” or has thirst, hunger, nightmares or monsters in the closet. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But that our hope for a free evening is even more justified than we thought, has now been confirmed by an Australian study that we recently stumbled upon online.

The perfect bedtime

According to the Australian study, it is not only good for the health of children when they go to bed early. Mothers whose offspring is in the bunk on time are also mentally healthier and happier. According to experts, the perfect bedtime for the children is “before eight”. This is how the kids get all the sleep their bodies need and mom gets her well-deserved rest. We don’t exactly know why dads are not included in the study, but the study directors presumably assume that most mothers spend more time with the kids and therefore benefit more from “after work”.

Children, off to bed

Incidentally, this study does not state that mom has to spend her evening meditating, lettuce leaves or yoga in order to find her center. Netflix, potato chips, and red wine don’t seem to mitigate the effect. At least that’s what we believe until some study can prove us wrong. Our new everyday rule is definitely: children go to bed before eight. Tonight, when we all sink into our sofa with a sigh at 8 p.m. sharp, we think about each other for a moment. And then only to ourselves. And should monsters or other problems arise with the little ones again, we can send dad with a clear conscience. After all, the study didn’t say that waking children harmed them after 8 p.m. …
