Deal wobbles: Kane should hesitate with Bayern’s commitment

For Harry Kane, FC Bayern would break a sound barrier. And so far the top English striker has also been willing to switch to the German record champions. But now that the two clubs seem to agree, the 30-year-old Knipser has doubts.
There are probably doubts about the allegedly looming transfer from Harry Kane to FC Bayern Munich. It looks “more and more likely” as if Kane wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur this season, Sky Sports reported in England without naming a source.
The TV broadcaster Sky in Germany also wrote that the captain of the English national football team was hesitating despite an alleged verbal agreement with the Munich team. No source was given for this either. Kane’s decision is said to be “50/50” at the moment.
The portal “The Athletic” had previously reported that the Munich team had agreed in principle with Tottenham on a Kane change this summer. The decision to move from the Thames to the Isar now lies with the 30-year-old striker. Accordingly, the London club accepted an offer from Munich of the equivalent of more than 100 million euros on Wednesday.
Kane, in turn, is said to have been pushing for clarity about his own future ahead of the Premier League start this weekend. His contract in England expires in the summer of 2024. He is regarded as Bayern’s dream striker this transfer summer.
Biggest construction site still open?
With his commitment, Bayern would close the largest construction site in their squad. The England national team’s record goalscorer would rise to become the most expensive signing in the Bundesliga. The previous record holder was Frenchman Lucas Hernández, who FC Bayern signed from Atlético Madrid in 2019 for 80 million euros. The left-back was sold to Paris Saint-Germain this summer for allegedly around 50 million euros including bonuses.
Kane would also rise to become the top earner at Bayern in the foreseeable future and occupy an important place in the hierarchy alongside the currently injured national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, the no longer untouchable offensive all-rounder Thomas Müller and the midfield driver Joshua Kimmich.
