Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League introduces the Elseworlds and the Joker for its ambitious post-launch content

The release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is close and Warner Bros. Games did not wait to release its launch trailer last week, which will not have surprised players following the communication around the game. For a little more originality in terms of visuals, we can however rely on the third and final issue of Suicide Squad Insidera video format where Rocksteady introduces us to her baby. The first issue distributed in November thus took stock of the scenario and the bases of the gameplaywhile December’s detailed the supporting cast and various mechanics. This time, we are treated to an introduction to… Elseworlds !

The director of Rocksteady Darius Sadeghian is not afraid of words sinceHe calls Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s post-launch content the most generous and player-friendly experience of its kind. It is now a traditional system of seasons which will therefore be put in place, each comprising two Episodes, each time with a theme based on a villain from the DC universe. Content will not be blocked behind a Battle Pass and the shop in-game will only be used to sell cosmetic items. Everyone should therefore find their way financially, hoping that the microtransactions are not too aggressive like in certain games… In addition, it will still be possible to access these additions in the future ! If we could find fault with David Zaslav’s desire to transform his licenses into live servicethis vision of Rocksteady not encouraging FOMO looks quite attractive.

Narratively, everything should therefore be linked to the experiences of Brainiacwho in his quest to recreate his native world of Colu played with the DNA of the characters and thus designed worlds in alternative realities, i.e. Elseworlds. Yes, the multiverse is certainly overused in recent years, but it doesn’t feel too forced here. On the other hand, the fact of having placed the plot in theArkhamverse takes on less and less meaning if not the studio’s desire to bring together all of its games within a single universe.

For the Season 1it’s a Joker alternative to the appearance risking debate which will thus become playable next Marchmember of the Suicide Squad in his world. The developers wanted to offer a character closer to his vaudeville side and internally not really knowing who he is. He will have a rocket umbrella to move around (it’s hard not to think about Fortnite) and will always be moving and attacking. The team promises new environments, characters, missions, challenges, equipment and more, so there should be no time to get bored, and at no extra cost.

The infographic below also indicates that two alternative versions of Green Lantern And Superman will act as bosses, while the Episodes will involve in one way or another Double sided and theScarecrow. The new area with its The Daily Cackle promises to be as crazy as the Joker And THE Seasons 2 has 4 will add a frozen biome, an area with elements coming from Gotham City prey to chaos, including the asylumArkhamand what appears to be a medieval world.

Except that, some social features have been highlighted. Besides of the emotes and personalization, a scoreboard will encourage us to give our best when we play in co-op. The squad member with the highest ranking will thus become the leader during the next mission, which does not tell us if this will have a real impact or if we can just show off. Players preferring to play the lone wolf role will not be left out since one of the leaderboards made available will be dedicated to them, others for teams of two, three and four people also being included. This competitive aspect will take into account the cross play. It will also be possible to taunt our friends if we surpass them in the ranking, which will display a funny animation when they reconnect.

More interestingly, we can use the characters as they have been customized by other players as bot in our team controlled by AI. This will have the effect of offering rewards to the person and should therefore encourage us to properly improve our own members of the Task Force so that they in turn are chosen.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is expected on February 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. If you are interested, it is available for pre-order from €61.99 to the Fnac with €10 offered on your account.
