We were fascinated by the maxi dress in summer for a long time. But the summer it piece is now getting competition – from a dress that was able to assert itself in the 1960s. The boxy-cut mini dress is back and is celebrating its comeback at Paris Haut-Couture-Week. And we know: what is worn here definitely has great trend potential.
Mini dress: that’s what makes it so charming
The mistake you shouldn’t make with the mini dress: classifying it as “cheap” due to its short cut and therefore not wearing it. The charm of the dress lies in the fact that the cut on the leg is short, but the high neckline and boxy shape give it a well-dressed and elegant impression. With the right styling, you can amplify this effect even more.
This is the best way to style the mini dress
When you have found a suitable mini dress, it doesn’t take much more. Quite the opposite: To make your look round, it’s best to style according to the well-known motto “less is more”. Rely on filigree jewelry such as small hoops in gold or rings in a layered look – a narrow bangle also matches the mini dress. As far as the choice of shoes is concerned, you have (almost) a free hand: whether sneakers, striking ankle boots or casual sandals, when choosing shoes, we rely on a skilful break in style. Another stylish break in style is an oversize blazer like the one that actress Rebecca Dayan combines with her mini dress.

When buying, make sure to use a high-quality, if not particularly strong, fabric. This ensures that the dress does not blow up and stays in its shape. When it comes to make-up and styling, we also prefer to be casual with natural day make-up and a loosely-fitting bun. A sleek look like the one that top model Joan Smalls wears goes well with the dress and creates a cool twist. The mini dress looks neither stuffy nor cheap, but ultra-modern and feminine.
