Superheroes in spite of himself: the day the star of Titanic kissed Philippe Lacheau

While his comedy “Superheroes despite him” is in theaters, back to the day Philippe Lacheau received a funny kiss from Kate Winslet on the show “Le Grand Journal”. That was over 15 years ago.

Did you know that in October 2006, Philippe Lacheau slipped into the skin of Jack Dawson, the hero of Titanic immortalized on screen by Leonardo DiCaprio? It was during a sketch on the set of the Grand Journal, whose main guest was a certain… Kate Winslet!
While his comedy Superhero despite himself is in theaters, Philippe Lacheau, guest of the show Le Stream d’AlloCiné, remembered this moment like no other. With humor, he evokes this delirious sketch which saw Kate Winslet, the Rose of Titanic, kiss him on the mouth, and also reveals the complicated backstage of his meeting with the Hollywood star.

“I did a sketch with Kate Winslet at Canal, where I was disguised as Jack Dawson, who had remained under water for twenty years”says Phillipe Lacheau, with a smile on his face. “I arrive, I have an octopus in my pants, and at the end I say “Kate, kiss me” and I throw my mouth at me, saying to myself “she’s going to cramp me”! And she gives me the Kiss, whore! Phew thing!”

Philippe Lacheau, asked about his desires to shoot Hollywood stars, then talks about his meeting with Kate Winslet in the parking lot of Canal+. A meeting that was not a communication summit. “I have a big problem with English. I regret not having worked at school”he smiles.

Philippe Lacheau talks about Kate Winslet’s kiss (from 14’30”):

“After the show, I’m going to pick up my car in the parking lot, and his sedan, with his driver, was parked right next to it”continues Lacheau. “She sees me, we see each other, and she comes to talk to me. She talks to me, she makes long sentences, you see! I didn’t understand a thing! If it happens, I would have had a future, we don’t know, I don’t know what she said to me… I was there, I was like “yes, yes, thank you”, I didn’t understand anything! I blamed myself…”

“I would dream of shooting with Americans”, concludes Philippe Lacheau after having told this tasty anecdote. It should be noted that he did it, certainly on a modest level but all the same, since he directed Pamela Anderson (currently in the spotlight with the series Pam & Tommy) in Nicky Larson and the perfume of Cupid.
