Since its release in 2016, the Dyson Supersonic has never undergone any improvements. An omission repaired in June with the release of the Nural, a new version of the hair dryer integrating an armada of sensors to further reduce the thermal risks that threaten our hair.
Automatic temperature control
The Supersonic Nural will be equipped with a trajectory sensor that will evaluate the distance between it and the scalp. The closer it gets, the more it will automatically reduce the airflow temperature to a minimum of 55°C using an infrared beam. According to Dyson, this would be the temperature “optimal for the scalp and effective drying”.

This temperature control will be materialized by a color-coded lighting system. Because if the Supersonic will retain its emblematic design, it now boasts some modifications. The head of the Dyson Supersonic Nural sports a transparent facade revealing electronic components, including an LED changing from blue to red depending on the heat of the air flow (red obviously representing the highest temperature).
However, you should be vigilant, because the Supersonic Nural will adapt its temperature in the presence of only a few accessories. Only the Gentle Drying Tip and Concentrator will benefit from this feature. Too bad not to benefit from it with the diffuser or the smooth finishing tip, sometimes close to the scalp.

Smarter accessories
In addition, the Dyson Supersonic Nural will be equipped with a tip recognition system. As the hair dryer comes with several accessories, this version will be able to adapt its settings accordingly.

If the user is accustomed to using the smooth finishing tip with intermediate airflow and heat, the Supersonic Nural will automatically select these two settings in the presence of the accessory. The same will be true with the concentrator, the gentle drying tip, the wide-toothed comb and the diffuser, all delivered with the Nural.

As such, the diffuser has been modified by Dyson and would be more effective for curling the strands, with two possible positions depending on the desired result.
Finally, the Dyson Supersonic Nural will pause in a stationary situation. Heating, air flow and noise level will be automatically reduced, like the Airstrait.
Available from June and available in two colors, the Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer will be sold at a price of €499.
