The 17-year-old girl who disappeared in Mayenne for twenty-four hours has found her family and the search for the kidnapper continues.
A kidnapper still on the run. Kidnapped on November 8, the 17-year-old was found in shock and slightly injured the day after her disappearance. According to her first statements to the police, she escaped her captors and found refuge in a kebab. After a few hours spent at Angers hospital, the teenager was able to find her family.
This Wednesday, November 10, the public prosecutor, Céline Maigné, provided an update on the progress of the case. She informed that “The Angers research section and the Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne research brigade are carrying out meticulous work”. At this stage of the investigation for “Kidnapping and forcible confinement”, no arrests were made, the gendarmes actively pursuing the search for the individual or individuals who kidnapped the teenager.
First suspect released
On Monday, November 8, a man in his forties contacted the police explaining that he had details of the teenager’s disappearance. The gendarmes then went to his home and in view of his intoxicated state, they placed him in a drunken cell, before placing him in police custody. The investigators wanted “to clarify his schedule in view of the few inconsistencies during his first statements”. And the “The investigations carried out made it possible to clarify the elements which motivated this measure and to rule out the implication of the accused person”. Still according to the explanations of the Laval prosecutor’s office, the man was released on Tuesday, without legal proceedings.
