Wostra lido

The Wostra lido is located directly on the Elbe Cycle Path. It is a renatured, former gravel pit (approx. 2 hectares). You can reach it from the center of Dresden with the bus lines 86 (stop Freibad Wostra) and 89 (stop Tronitzer Straße).

  • There are delimited swimmer and non-swimmer areas at the Wostra lido.

Birkwitz swimming lake

The Birkwitz gravel and swimming lake (area of ​​10 hectares) is located in the Saxon Switzerland district between Pillnitz and Pirna. It is about 20 km from Dresden. The easiest way to reach the lake is via the A17 motorway (Pirna exit).

  • The south of the lake is a well-known and fish-rich fishing water (bathing is prohibited here).

  • There are kiosks right on the lake (so that physical well-being is ensured) and sanitary facilities. If you don't just want to bathe and let the sun shine on your fur, you can rent pedal boats or boards for stand-up paddling.

  • There is also a dog beach for everyone who does not want to do without their four-legged friends when bathing.

Dippelsdorfer Teich north of Dresden

The Dippelsdorfer pond (covered about 7 square kilometers) is located north of Dresden in the municipality of Moritzburg. It belongs to the Moritzburg ponds. The best way to travel from Saxony's capital is by car via the B170.

  • The Dippelsdorfer pond is not particularly large, but it still has a lot to offer: If you like canoeing, you have plenty of opportunities here.

  • Due to its abundance of fish, the pond is also a paradise for anglers (fishing is definitely permitted).

Mockritz natural pool

The Mockritz natural pool is located on the southern outskirts of Dresden. It is easily accessible from the center by bus lines 63 and 66. It is less a lake than a very large pond, which is still used by the locals to cool off in the summer months.

  • The bathing pond is fed with natural sources. You can easily find employment for young and old here. There is, among other things, a water slide and a jetty that leads out onto the water as well as a paddling pool for the little ones. There is even a Kneipp facility.

More than just a bathing lake: Malter dam

There are a total of three beach pools at this dam: one in Paulsdorf, one in Seifersdorf and one in Malter. The easiest way to get to the dam from Dresden-Zentrum is by driving south along the B170.

  • There are spacious sunbathing areas and separate nudist areas. Attractions such as water slides are offered for younger bathers.

  • There are also restaurants on each of the beaches, so you don't have to worry about your physical well-being. You can even find a cocktail bar on the beach in Paulsdorf, for example.
