Sydney McLaughlin pulverizes world record over 400 m hurdles

Sydney McLaughlin set the next fabulous world record at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In the final over 400 m hurdles, the 21-year-old American improved her previous record from the end of June by 44 hundredths to 51.46 seconds.

Behind McLaughlin, ex-world record holder and compatriot Dalilah Muhammad also remains well below the old top value in 51.58 seconds. Bronze with the European record of 52.03 seconds went to Femke Bol from the Netherlands.
