Since September 13, Netflix subscribers can watch Tapie, the new series made in France of the platform. In this fiction, we follow the atypical and eventful journey of Bernard Tapie, a maligned public figure, sometimes boss of the Marseille Olympics, sometimes singer or even minister in the government of François Mitterrand.
An incredible transformation
Laurent Lafitte, one of the residents of the Comédie-Française, slips into the skin of this colorful protagonist. For AlloCiné, the actor also returned to this experience and the way he worked on his interpretation of Bernard Tapie.
During this interview, the actor also revealed to us whether or not he had requested a meeting with the real protagonist of this story (Bernard Tapie died on October 3, 2021) or one of his relatives, such as his wife Dominique Tapie.
Laurent Lafitte then answered us frankly: “I didn’t think about it but Tristan Séguéla [le réalisateur, dont le père Jacques Séguéla était proche de Bernard Tapie, ndlr] asked me some time ago: ‘Would you be interested if I tried to organize a lunch with Bernard Tapie?’… And in fact, I wasn’t sure if that would help me play.”
“I would have loved to meet him now“
He then elaborates:I wasn’t sure, especially because I think he was someone who had a great power of seduction… As an individual and a citizen, I would have been very interested in meeting him, assures Laurent Lafitte. But as an actor, I had the impression that it wasn’t necessarily going to benefit me so I preferred not to try it. I would have really liked to meet him now so we could talk about the series. That would have amused me!“
