Targeted by rumors of transsexuality, Brigitte Macron intends to file a complaint



SOn social networks as well as on websites qualified as conspirators, Brigitte Macron is accused of concealing her true identity. The first would be called, in reality, Jean-Michel Trogneux. Based on her maiden name, the name turned into a viral Twitter keyword. The hashtag remains at the top of trends on Twitter, accompanied by photographic snapshots of the wife of the President of the Republic, aiming to find her masculine airs. Monday, December 20, BFMTV indicated that this former French teacher intends to file a complaint after the massive circulation of this theory deemed transphobic.

This gossip would come from a pseudo investigation by Facts & Documents, published on September 29th. A review founded by far-right essayist Emmanuel Ratier, who died in 2015. The journalist behind the paper would nickname Emmanuel Macron’s youthful love “AND the extraterrestrial” on Facebook, since 2018.

The mentions of Jean-Michel Trogneux on the rise

The relay of this rumor would have been provided by several conspiratorial sites and YouTube channels, before Twitter seized the case on December 13. Two days later, 57,000 messages had already been published under the hashtag #JeanMichelTrogneux according to Release. From this period, future “prosecutions” had been confirmed in the newspaper by Master Jean Ennochi, lawyer for Brigitte Macron. The lawyer said he was “responsible for defending his interests following these publications.”
