TeamViewer: Augmented Reality platform “Frontline” in version 4.0

Teamviewer, a company known for remote maintenance software, is releasing the fourth version of its augmented reality platform “Frontline” and integrating essential functions from its subsidiaries Upskill and Viscopic. This should make it possible to create mixed reality workflows in Frontline 4.0 with the help of holograms, among other things.

In addition, Frontline customers can now work with three workflow builders – some of which can be assigned to the no-code area, but also to the low-code area. Thus, in the future, non-specialists should also be able to create functions using drag-and-drop. This means that AR workflows for repairing or inspecting a machine can also be carried out by other specialists – who do not belong to the IT area – such as production employees.

At the beginning of 2021, Teamviewer bought the US company Upskill and the startup Viscopic in order to be able to develop its own augmented reality platform more quickly.
