Shock moment for a 50-year-old Tyrolean on Tuesday afternoon in Pertisau am Achensee: while driving, his car suddenly caught fire. The local could get out of the car in time – he was unharmed. However, the car suffered a total loss.
The 50-year-old was out on the Nature Park Road in Pertisau at around 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday when he suddenly noticed thick smoke and a short time later flames broke out of the engine compartment.
Technical defect as the cause
The local stopped immediately, got out and alerted the local fire department. The Florianijünger were finally able to quickly bring the fire under control and put it out. The car was totaled. According to the police, the cause was a technical defect.
