Technip Energies: contract with Chevron Phillips Chemical and QatarEnergy

(Boursier.com) — Technip Energies has won a contract to supply proprietary cracking furnaces for the 2,000 kta ethane cracker. of the Golden Triangle Polymers project, a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) and QatarEnergy, along the Gulf Coast in Orange, Texas. This contract represents revenue of more than €250 million for Technip Energies.

Technip Energies explains: “The award of this contract is part of our upstream engagement strategy with CPChem and QatarEnergy, which resulted in the selection of our proprietary ethylene technology, and follows the finalization design studies (Process Design Package) for our licensed ethylene technology”.

The modular equipment will include seven of the largest capacity furnaces Technip Energies has ever designed. The cracker is designed using modern emissions reduction technologies and processes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to similar facilities in the United States and Europe.
