  • Tekken 8 is probably not planning a collaboration with Bandai Namco.
  • As a result, Kirby will not appear in the upcoming fighting game.
  • Kazuya Mishima previously appeared in Smash Bros.

The Tekken 8 development team recently entered into a collaboration with the Brawlhalla developers. However, this is not the only collaboration in the company’s history. The Tekken team previously worked with Nintendo to bring Kazuya Mishima into the Smash Bros. universe.

In honor of the upcoming release on January 26th for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, a fan asked game director Katsuhiro Harada on

Kirby in Tekken 8?

In response to the question, Harada responded with a counter question asking whether he actually wanted Harada to negotiate such a difficult deal with Nintendo.

Furthermore, he explains that the scene where Kazuya Mishima drops Kirby in the Smash Bros. trailer only came about because Smash Bros. game director Masahiro Sakurai really wanted to make it happen.

In Tekken 8 you can again choose a lot of different characters. We’ll tell you how many playable characters will be included in the future fighting game.

Due to these factors, it is unlikely that Kirby will make an appearance in Tekken 8. An additional reason for this assessment is that the upcoming fighting game is not scheduled to appear for Nintendo Switch.

We will of course keep you updated should there be an official announcement. Until then, we’ll give you an insight into the details of the story mode and other features. As usual, you can find information about other upcoming games in our gaming release list.
