Tempting offers – AK warns of fake heating-related websites

The increased prices for numerous goods attract many fraudsters, especially on the Internet. The Tyrolean Chamber of Labor is now warning of supposedly good offers far below the usual market price level. Experts help with questions.

The increased costs and sometimes enormous prices on numerous goods ensure that consumers are also looking for cheap alternatives on the Internet. Fraudsters also see this as an opportunity and lure people with bargains on fake sites, especially when it comes to heating. Recently, a Tyrolean woman fell for a supposed online shop with cheap prices, which lured with firewood, wood briquettes or wood pellets far below the market price level. “Fortunately, she became skeptical because of the particularly low prices and asked us at AK Tirol,” reports President Erwin Zangerl. According to the imprint, the provider was a company in Retz in Lower Austria, but the company does not appear in the company register or in the economic compass. The website watchlist-internet.at also warns against the entry. The website has already been deleted. The AK’s warning remains valid: It is assumed “that various fraudulent sites are trying to rip off consumers.” If you have any questions, the AK’s experts will help on 0800/22 55 22
