Terminal: what is the new sitcom by Jamel Debbouze and Ramzy Bedia worth on Canal+?

Canal+ is unveiling this evening the first episodes of “Terminal”, its new sitcom with Ramzy Bedia and Jamel Debbouze. More than 20 years after “H”, do the friends still manage to make us laugh?

What is it about ?

“Immediate boarding at Flywingz, welcome aboard one of the most… surprising airlines. In an increasingly competitive air market, the lowest of low cost airlines must stand out in order not to crash. Jack, captain of on board piloting his personal life as badly as his plane, and Charlie his co-pilot, relegated from a prestigious company to Flywingz, are forced to collaborate. To do this, they will be supported by an astonishing team of cabin crew: the naive Nelly, Nabil, the most unpredictable steward the sky has ever known, Tristan the arriviste, and Armelle, militant in all battles An inspection visit that turns into a fiasco or a child who takes control of the plane: our team of hands. broken (almost) always welded will try as best they can to manage these absurd situations And too bad if the methods adopted do not always respect the safety procedures!

The diffusion of Terminal begins Monday April 22 on Canal+, from 9:06 p.m.

Who is it with?

In this sitcom we find Ramzy Bedia, Bérangère McNeese, Camille Chamoux, Brahim Bouhlel, Tristan Lopin, Laureen “lapotegenante”, Doully, Alexandra Roth and Samuel Bambi, but also the appearances of Manu Payet and Jamel Debbouze. Some very special guests (whose names we will not mention here to keep the surprise!) also appear in the credits…

Terminal was written by Giulio Callegari, Xavier Lacaille, Angela Soupe, Clémence Dargent, Yohan Zaoui, Mohamed Hamidi and Jamel Debbouze. The latter two also shared the production of the twelve episodes of the fiction.

It’s worth checking out ?

Jamel Debbouze, Ramzy Bedia and a sitcom on Canal+… Wouldn’t it feel like déjà vu? More than 20 years after H, the friends return to the fold of the encrypted channel and return in 2024 with a brand new comic fiction: Terminal.

Exit hospital corridors and make way for airport departure lounges, an ideal meeting place to imagine funny moments! Here, people often meet in this place in a hurry (except our very cool low-cost crew) and anything can happen… even the most improbable!

Filmed in front of a very invested audience (spectators gave their opinions live on the scenes and valves in order to improve them), this sitcom made in France spares no one. The humor is corrosive and tackles all subjects without taboo but always with good substance.

The alchemy between the cast members (long-time friends rub shoulders with promising newcomers within the fine team) works and the jokes fly at high speed. Once again under the direction of Jamel Debbouze, Ramzy Bedia ( seen recently in Blood and Money) plays a loser/impostor role like Michael Scott (Steve Carell) from The Office… and he always does it very well!

Special mention to the women who work among the cast. They stand out by offering convincing interpretations of their assertive characters with scathing lines, facing their vast majority of stupid male colleagues.

Thus, it is clear that the troublemakers have not yet completely calmed down two decades and a few years later! We smile and laugh because we find their absurd and characteristic tone that we adore (and which also made H successful at the time)… without being really surprised, unfortunately.

The whole thing is appealing and remains pleasant to watch… However, Terminal does not surprise us or make us laugh to the point of taking off very high. Despite everything, Jamel Debbouze and his colleagues did what they do best and absolutely did not deserve it.

Terminal can be discovered this Monday, April 22, 2024, from 9:06 p.m. on Canal+.
