TF1: why Gilles Bouleau will not say who is the winner of the Presidential on April 24

In an interview with Puremedias.com on Monday April 4, 2022, Gilles Bouleau revealed that it will be Anne-Claire Coudray who will announce the name of the Presidential winner on Sunday April 24, 2022 on TF1, before explaining the raison.

At the controls of the 8 p.m. news TF1 for nearly 10 years nowGilles Bouleau has established himself over the years as one of the essential figures of information on the first channel. Successor of Laurence Ferrariwho had herself replaced Patrick Poivre d’Arvor after his ousting from the first channel, Gilles Bouleau will once again be associated with Anne-Claire Coudray during the election evenings scheduled for Sunday April 10 and 24, 2022. As in 2017, the two journalists will present the results of the first and second round of the presidential election.

However, unlike 2017, when he announced the victory of Emmanuel Macron, Gilles Bouleau will not reveal the name of the winner of the Presidential Sunday April 24, 2022. The journalist, who will leave this honor to his colleague Anne-Claire Coudray, explained the reasons for this choice during an interview with the site Puremedias.com Monday, April 4, 2022.”We agreed with Anne-Claire since we had done it in 2017. We said to ourselves: ‘I did this, you did this’. It’s up to you… We reverse“, indicated Gilles Bouleau. During this same interview, the presenter of the JT of 20h of TF1 was asked about the controversial choice of the first channel, who decided to put an end to his election night as of 9:30 p.m. on Sunday April 10, 2022in order to rebroadcast the cult comedy Visitors that night.

Gilles Bouleau on the first round of the Presidential: “At 9:30 p.m., all those who matter will have reacted”

Apart from July 14, it will be the longest live news show of the year. There will be three hours of live on this first round of the presidential election. We attach a great deal of importance to it. The second thing is thatfrom 8 p.m. our efforts are focused on having the best guests, the clearest possible results, to be in the HQ, to have the reactions as quickly as possible, and to give meaning. Between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., we will have fully accomplished this mission, without frustration. By 9:30 p.m., everyone who matters will have reacted and everything that has changed in the political balance will be drawn. I have no regrets about that. The mission during this evening will be to clarify the issues, not to dilute them.“, explained Gilles Bouleau.
