Thales: 10-year contract with the French Ministry of the Armed Forces

(CercleFinance.com) – Thales announced last night that it had won a contract with the French army to support aerial surveillance systems.

The group indicates that the Directorate of Aeronautical Maintenance of the Ministry of the Armed Forces (DMAé) has entrusted it for a period of 10 years with the support of the main components of the command and control system of aerospace operations (SCCOA).

It is a set based on more than 700 complex systems such as air defense radars, control centers, ground-to-air telecommunications and information systems.

Spread over 125 sites across hexagonal and overseas France, the SCCOA detects and deals with threats.

As prime contractor for the program, called ‘VASSCO’, Thales intends to set up a unified information system at the heart of operational management and prepare for the transition to predictive maintenance.
