At the Bislett Games in the Norwegian metropolis, Simon Ehammer raised Swiss athletics and his personal work to a new level. The 23-year-old decathlete outperformed the assembled specialists from around the world in the long jump and claimed his first victory at the Diamond League level. Never before has a male representative of Swiss Athletics achieved such an accolade.

After a false start and an invalid attempt, Ehammer unpacked all his skills in the second of six attempts and, after a perfect jump, jumped 8.32 meters into the sand pit. This is the second best jump of his career after his personal record of 8.45 meters in Götzis last season.
