The year of the Playstation 5 has been rather timid in truly new exclusives. We still had the new adventures of the lombax and a trip to the depths of an alien planet in Returnal, but apart from that, it will have mostly been the celebration of new-generation versions. of titles already existing on PS4, as we will see in this small selection.
Returnal: From rogue to pure drug
Rogue-lite like we’ve never seen before, or almost. Returnal is a strong exclusivity of the PS5 for 2021: original concept and very well executed, game sensations in tune, management of the specificities of the machine which remain unmatched to this day (Dualsense, 3D audio). As a matter of fact, if we were to advise you only one game with your Playstation 5, it would surely be him, despite the fact that it is a rogue-lite and therefore, in essence, a fairly radical game in its proposal.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart or the power of the SSD
The perfect technical demo if you want to blow it up in front of your friends with your brand new PS5. This new episode of the R&C saga does not revolutionize the business of the lombax and his favorite tin can, but it still represents a small outcome of the exploration / shoot formula of the flagship series of Insomniac Games. A small new generation “tap” as the saying goes.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut: Baby One more Time
Yep, it was a bit of a famine this year, on the exclusives side: with the COVID-19 crisis, the new generation has been, as it were, postponed until next year. Afterwards, if you haven’t had the opportunity to put on Sam Porter’s rangers in Death Stranding, this Director’s Cut is a perfect opportunity to live the atypical experience (and clearly not for everyone) planned by Kojima Productions. A pedestrian delivery game, of which we invite you to read the test below for more details. Find our complete guide to Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut: Where Sakai
Same comment as above finally, even if the island of Iki, new theater of Jin Sakai’s adventures, succeeds in infusing a little novelty in what remains a luxurious new generation patch for Ghost of Tsushima, sold at high price. We are not going to spit in the soup: the visual comfort provided by this version is impeccable. The game holds its 60fps, the flickers are gone and the 3D audio support is a blessing. A change of scenery, for a satisfying open-world. Find our complete guide to Ghost of Tsushima.
