Having hair on your chin or cheeks when you are a woman is not a shame! Almost everyone has it, in more or less quantity depending on their complexion and hairiness. Usually, their quantity is determined by hormones and can fluctuate over the course of life. While some have only a fuzz above the lip, others will see coarser and thicker hair all over the face and down to the neck. It is of course not mandatory to remove them, but if it is your choice, then here are the suitable solutions:

Solution 1: the tweezers

If you have a light beard, that is to say one that still looks like a kind of down, then we recommend that you use tweezers.
Advantage : This is an inexpensive and simple trick.
Disadvantage : if the bristles are too fine, they risk breaking. Which can hurt a bit.

How to choose the right clamp? There are 4 different shapes of tweezers.
The most classic is the straight clamp, with flat edges, it allows to remove in a clean way the coarsest hairs.
The tweezers with bevelled edges is ideal for sensitive areas and ingrown hairs.
The crab claw, with curved edges, effectively removes fine hairs, especially those at the tip of the eyebrows.
The sharp tweezers, its use is more limited. It is effective in getting rid of hair under the skin or removing splinters.

Our favorite : The Vitry tweezers which dethrones all the others! We particularly like the model, the end of which is angled, for easier hair removal. Also note its angled clamp which allows greater precision, and which grips each hair very well, even the shortest.

Solution 2: wax

Waxing is still a good option for removing hair on your cheeks, chin, and lips as it leaves your skin smooth and soft.
The advantage : you will be quiet for two to three weeks before seeing a new hair point the tip of his nose. In addition, unlike shaving, hair that has been waxed will grow back thin.
Disadvantage : if you epilate at home, you may burn yourself or have some pain.

Our favorite : If going to a salon is not possible, you don't have the time or prefer to wax at home, we recommend cold wax strips, specially designed for the face.

Solution 3: the electric epilator

Most electric epilators work on the same principle as tweezers, they pull the hair at the root to pull it out.
The advantage : the hair does not grow back for 3 weeks.
Disadvantage : It can be painful and most epilators are too large to be used above the upper lip. Then you can use bikini epilators, small enough to do the trick.

Our favorite : The Braun Silk-Epil 7 electric epilator which is sold with various accessories, including one specially designed for facial hair removal!

Solution 4: The discoloration

If your hair on the cheeks or on the upper lip is black but fine, we recommend that you bleach it with bleaching formulas. This avoids going through hair removal, which involves regrowth that is necessarily coarser than the natural state of your hair.

The advantage: this method is completely painless and very quick since 10 short minutes will separate you from a completely transparent down.
Disadvantage : these creams are often abrasive and have a strong odor. If you have sensitive and irritable skin, it is necessary to test the product beforehand on a small part of your skin before application. Also, if your down is really thick, fading it will only make it more visible. We recommend fading only for fine duvets.

Our favorite : Veet bleaching cream suitable for both facial and body skin.

Solution 5: thread hair removal

Increasingly popular in salons, thread hair removal involves pulling out the hair by wedging it between two pieces of thread. By pulling on it, the hairs are then extracted out of the skin! The advantages of this technique are the same as waxing with a little more precision. The downside is that you won't be able to wax yourself and will have to go to a beauty salon (unless you have mastered this technique!). However, there are many who offer this service nowadays.

Solution 6: Hair removal with laser or pulsed light

The laser consists of destroying the hair bulb by emitting a light discharge at the root. The light energy is then converted into heat which eliminates the cells responsible for the growth of the hair, which no longer grows back.
The advantage: This technique is almost completely irreversible. Except in case of pregnancy or hormonal changes, once finished your laser sessions, you will be at peace ad vitam eternam.
The inconvenients : only black hairs can be treated, and a certain spacing between each session must be scrupulously respected. Under no circumstances should you expose yourself to the sun, and it is a certain investment, it must be said.

And the pulsed light ? In principle, it is the same operation of light discharges sent to the root of the hair but with a lower intensity. The advantage is that it is cheaper and less painful than lasers, and you can get devices to do it at home. The downside, pulsed light devices are usually too big to treat small areas of the face. In addition, commercially available pulsed light devices are less powerful than professional machines.

Our favorite : The Braun Silk-Expert pulsed light epilator. A device that guarantees effective hair removal up to 90% of the hairs from the 4th week. It has a smart skin tone sensor and adapts the intensity of the beam for safe treatment.

Also, be aware that as a general rule, any method of hair removal, shaving or hair removal of any kind carries the risk of more or less abundant hair regrowth. But also it can lead to the growth of comedones. If you are prone to blemishes as a rule, prefer permanent hair removal rather than methods such as shaving or waxing which require a certain regularity and weaken the skin.
