The “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte” will be shown from June. Disney+ is stoking curiosity with a bloody lightsaber.

The start date for the “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte” on Disney+ has been set. The series will be available to watch on streaming services such as Disney+ and Star Wars from June 4th revealed on their official Instagram accounts.

They also posted a picture that promises a bloody show: “In an age of light, a darkness rises,” is written on the picture. You can also see a lightsaber that shows a trail of blood instead of light. The first trailer, which the post also announces, will be released tomorrow, Tuesday (March 19).

As was already known, the agent and mystery show by “Matryoshka” maker Leslye Headland (44) takes place before the events of the “Star Wars” films. The series stars, among others: Amandla Stenberg (25), Lee Jung-Jae (51), Manny Jacinto (36), Dafne Keen (19), Charlie Barnett (36), Jodie Turner-Smith (37), Rebecca Henderson (43), Dean-Charles Chapman (26), Joonas Suotamo (37) and Carrie-Anne Moss (56).

“The Acolyte”: The Last Days of the High Republic

Filming for the series began in November 2022. Disney+ summarized the plot at the time with the words: “‘The Acolyte’ is a mystery thriller that takes viewers into a galaxy full of dark secrets and emerging ones in the final days of the High Republic Abducted by forces of the dark side. A former Padawan reunites with his Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they face are darker than they ever expected.”

“The Acolyte” is the newest “Star Wars” series from Disney+, but by no means the only one. The streamer has already published series such as “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, “Andor”, “Ahsoka” and “The Book of Boba Fett”. Filming for Season 2 of “Andor” recently wrapped. Disney+ is also home to the hit series “The Mandalorian,” which already has three seasons and will soon have a film coming into production. The new show “Skeleton Crew” is currently still waiting for a release date.
