For the second time Kate Winslet will share the poster with her daughter Mia Threapleton in an episode of the drama series I Am broadcast on December 8 on Channel 4. The opportunity to discover the pride of a mother for her daughter of whom she is the spitting image.

This Thursday, December 8, a new episode of the series I am developed by Dominic Savage (winner of a BAFTA) is released on Channel 4. A series developed around a unique concept where each episode features a famous actress in England and where the story and the screenplay are designed in collaboration with the latter. Kate Winslet had also declared in a press release: “The collaborative and sensitive way in which Dominic Savage creates and films each episode of I Am is empowering, rewarding and completely immersive”.

This new opus features the Oscar-winning actress and her own daughter Mia Threapleton in an impressive duo. I Am Ruth tells the story of Ruth, a mother who worries about her daughter’s addiction to social media and the impact on mental health it has. It was while promoting the TV series that Kate Winslet discussed her experience on set with her daughter: “Of course, there was some personal overlap”, confides the actress. “It’s a mother/daughter story: it’s inevitable.”

A performance praised by the actress

Very proud of her daughter, Mia Threapleton, the star of Titanic has continued to sing her praises. She said to herself very “impressed” by the performance of the latter on the set especially when we know that although the plot was scripted, no dialogue had been written. “Not a single word out of our mouths was scripted. Everything we said, we invented it the same day, in the moment; nothing has been written” reveals Kate Winslet, before adding: “It makes what Mia has done doubly impressive, because when you’re a young actor having the courage to speak your mind and pitch an idea can be really difficult.”

The icing on the cake, we discover in the first images of the trailer for the TV movie released recently, an impressive resemblance between the mother and the daughter. A round face, azure blue eyes and the same shape of the mouth surmounted by the same mole, the expression “like Mother like daughter” makes sense !
