From the appalling rape of Mélissa, to the separation of Eve and Manu, through the departure of Virgil or even the murders of the Florist, a look back at the most significant moments of the year 2023 in Un si grand soleil.
MELISSA’S MEETING RAPE

This year, the writers of Un si grand soleil hit hard by offering us a punchy plot.
It is through the character of Mélissa (Hermine Granville), a young student in a precarious situation who will be the victim of gang rape, that the series directly addressed the subject of sexual violence in the world of so-called “amateur” pornography. ” and the crucial importance of free speech.
An almost unbearable plot but oh so necessary. If this is not the first time that the series has addressed the issue of violence against women, the writers have here taken up a theme that has so far been little addressed on television. Enough to remind us once again of the excellent work that the screenwriters do on such social subjects.
In this moving arc, Hermine Granville, the interpreter of Melissa, delivered an incredible performance conveying to us all the emotions of her character. An intrigue that we will clearly not forget!
KIRA’S ADOPTION

It was in 2020 that the character of Kira (Coline Ramos-Pinto) arrived in Un si grand soleil. A lost and violent teenager, the young woman then lived on the street and had some unsavory associates.
If Kira had formed a very strong bond with Virgile (Fred Bianconi), it was with Claire (Mélanie Maudran) and Florent (Fabrice Deville) that she finally decided to settle down. With them, the teenager found stability and the love she lacked.
Over the course of the episodes, Florent, Claire, Enzo and Kira formed a real family and all that was missing was a signature to make things official. It is now done. A lovely moment of emotion.
THE SEPARATION OF EVE AND MANU

If love stories abound in daily soap operas, breakups are inevitably just as legion. And this year, the screenwriters of Un si grand soleil decided to tackle the couple of Manu (Moïse Santamaria) and Eve (Emma Colberti).
From an unexpected love story, Eve and Manu had established themselves as an emblematic couple of the series appreciated by the faithful of the program. But now, nothing is immutable on the Montpellier side.
It must be said that Manu did not really appreciate discovering that his partner was playing temptress to make ends meet. Feeling betrayed, the police officer then put an end to their story. The opportunity to see a more fragile Manu who did not hesitate to go see a psychologist to open up about his faults.
Fortunately, love was ultimately stronger than anything and their separation did not last very long. Today, Eve and Manu are on cloud nine, but for how much longer?
THE CONNECTION OF MARC AND CHLOÉ

Since the tragic death of Myriam, Marc (César Méric) had not started his life again. But when he meets Chloé (Randiane Naly), he falls under her spell almost immediately. The problem is that Chloe is a married woman. Although she resisted for a long time, she eventually gave in to temptation.
Ultimately, this adulterous relationship did not last very long. Indeed, Chloé quickly realized that she was still in love with her husband and wanted to give her marriage a second chance.
If this brief romance caused a lot of tension within the Cresson family, it unexpectedly brought Marc and Léonor closer together. Separated for many years, Louis’ parents recently realized that they still had feelings for each other. Recently a couple, Marc and Léonor have even just moved in together. Like anything is possible!
THE RETURN OF HELENA’S MADNESS

Over the course of the episodes, Hélène (Sophie Le Tellier) has become an essential character in Un si grand soleil. Apparently without any problems, Hélène saw her behavior change drastically due to medical treatment. To the point of sequestering Claire with whom she had fallen madly in love.
If today Hélène is doing much better and seems stabilized, the writers of the soap opera had fun sowing trouble about the mental health of their character. Between mood swings, borderline behavior and situations going completely out of control, Hélène quickly let herself be overwhelmed by her emotions for our greatest happiness.
But this slightly crazy character would be nothing without the performance of Sophie Le Tellier who gives of herself. She’s having a blast and so are we. We can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for him!
THE EXPULSION OF CARINE AND MAÉVA

Carine (Alika Del Sol) and Maéva (Marie Fèvre) made a very notable entrance in Un si grand soleil. A single mother, Carine struggled to make ends meet and collected unpaid debt reminders.
So much so that mother and daughter ended up being evicted from their apartment. An event that took place in anger and drama. Worse still, Carine’s cousin lost his life during a police intervention following a movement of support.
Through this intrigue, the daily France 2 soap opera evoked over-indebtedness, precariousness and the theme of police violence. Important social subjects that we ultimately talk little about in daily soap operas.
THE DEPARTURE OF VIRGIL

The emotions of the faithful of Un si grand soleil were put to the test this year, particularly when saying goodbye to a historical character in the series.
Present since the launch of Un si grand soleil in 2018, Fred Bianconi, the interpreter of the unforgettable Virgil, said goodbye to the Montpellier soap opera last September. A decision which led the writers to write him an exit worthy of his character.
A plot full of twists and turns which will have kept us in suspense from start to finish and which will have offered us beautiful sequences of emotion. We will long remember the return of Léa (Marthe Fieschi), Virgil’s daughter, who died a few years earlier in an escape game fire.
It is therefore with tears in our eyes that we closed this great chapter of Un si grand soleil.
THE FLORIST

2023 will have been the year of all dangers for Montpellier’s most famous killer. Now feeling invested with a divine mission, Christophe (Hubert Benhamdine) has decided to eliminate all the criminals who have escaped justice.
While the list of his victims continued to grow, the Florist made a terrible mistake which alerted his wife Cécile (Marie-Gaëlle Cals). And yes, it’s not that easy to be a serial killer when you’re married to a judge. But Christophe is smart, and he managed to manipulate his world to direct suspicion towards poor Father Sylvio.
A year of high tension which allows us to keep Christophe for a little while longer in Un si grand soleil. Will 2024 be the year of its downfall?
THE PATERNITY OF ALAIN

When he was offered a DNA test for his birthday, Alain (Frédéric Van Den Driessche) was far from imagining that this gift would turn his life upside down.
When Flore and Tiago, his daughter and grandson, knocked on his door, a whole new life was offered to him. Having always regretted not having had a child, the doctor took his new role very seriously, even if it displeased Élisabeth (Chrystelle Labaude).
If the arrival of Flore and Tiago was a real tornado in the lives of Alain and Élisabeth, it above all helped prevent the couple from becoming too plan-like. Enough to create a few sparks. And we want more!
YANN’S TRAGIC PAST

An honest policeman and lone wolf, Yann (Constantin Balsan) until now had a very mysterious past. It was thanks to his love story with Johanna (Aurore Delplace) that we were able to learn more about him.
This year, the writers of the series therefore decided to dig into the past of Lieutenant Cross. And what we discovered was much more tragic than we thought.
Indeed, Alexandra, Yann’s wife, did not die of cancer but was hit head-on by a drunk driver. But that’s not all since Alexandra was eight months pregnant at the time of the tragedy. Enough to make Yann’s story all the more tragic.
Still being broadcast at the time of writing these few lines, this plot allows Constantin Balsan to be put a little more in the spotlight and to show us a whole new side of his game. By going from anger to sadness, the actor easily transports us into the pain of his character.
