The Sat.1 series “The Country Doctor’s Practice” starts. Caroline Frier’s role as Dr. Sarah König is a tough doctor with a chaotic love life.

“The Country Doctor’s Practice” opens its doors. The new Sat.1 early evening series will be shown every Monday to Friday at 7 p.m. on Sat.1 and on Joyn from October 16th (five new episodes on Joyn Plus+ on Mondays). Who is starring and what is the series about?

Love triangle in an Alpine backdrop: That’s what “The Country Doctor’s Practice” is about

In Wiesenkirchen am Schliersee the doctor Dr. Sarah König (Caroline Frier, 40) is looking for a new beginning and moves from Berlin to the tranquil village with her teenage daughter Leo (Katharina Hirschberg, 22). The Bavarian idyll brings with it some challenges: Not only does she have to prove her skills as a new country doctor, she also gets caught between two men. Her old childhood friend, village doctor Dr. Fabian Kroiß (Oliver Franck, 48) and the mountain rescuer Max Raichinger (Alexander Koll, 43). “Sarah is burdened by an explosive secret that threatens to destroy the idyll,” says the broadcaster’s announcement.

Caroline Frier: That’s what she has in common with her role

Frier is particularly pleased that the “Country Doctor” is now starting her work alongside established male colleagues such as the “Bergdoktor” in the medical series, as she revealed in an interview with spot on news last August on the sidelines of filming. “Finally a cool doctor is allowed to work. She has the perfect mix. A tough woman who is focused in her job, but is also vulnerable, is a bit of an idiot and can’t really get her private life under control.” She lives in the small village of Wiesenkirchen, “but is actually a big city brat,” explained the actress. “She comes from Cologne, studied in Munich and then in Lived in Berlin. As a girl from Cologne, that naturally suits me.”

Over time, her role becomes more and more immersed in country life, including the Bavarian dialect. “We also filled a lot of roles with Bayern, on the first day I didn’t understand anything and always needed a signal word, which I now have to answer,” said Frier with a laugh. Whether farmer, mountaineer or holidaymaker – Sarah König deals with a wide variety of patients in her country doctor’s office. Not only the initial language barriers, but also the medical practices of her role became a challenge for Frier. “I had a lot of respect, especially at the beginning we did a lot of medical work to establish Sarah as a doctor. But I was given a practicing doctor at my side with whom I built up a great relationship of trust and who showed me all the moves with great calm .”
