The Day Before gets smashed by players, it’s a disaster

The Day Before was officially released on PC, but it didn’t convince players. The returns are not going smoothly, and the game is being undermined from all sides.

If you know its history, you know that The Day Before has often been talked about. However, it hasn’t always been for the right reasons. But then, really not. The open world survival game halfway between The Division, The Last of Us and DayZ, however, had an attractive formula. But along the way, he encountered many setbacks. Not even mentioning the disastrous communication, he also had rights issues, and a… questionable volunteer policy. That said, that didn’t stop it from being released on December 7, and players didn’t fail to give it feedback. And there, the title was torn up by the players.

The Day Before does not please at all

The last we heard, The Day Before had greatly worried the community. The gameplay he showed was far from flattering, and he was the victim of yet another postponement. Once its release date was set for December, the Fntastic studio made a surprising announcement to say the least: the game will only be in early access on PC. For many, it seemed unreal, going so far as to mock this decision. In short, the title has indeed ended up arriving on the Steam platform. Unfortunately, as expected, it’s a disaster.

The Day Before has been available since yesterday, which means it’s still very young. Despite this, quite a few people showed up to the meeting to try it, with one question in mind: “ is it going to be that bad? “. With the average on Steam being “Extremely Negative” for over 9,000 reviews, you probably have the answer. One of them explains that “ it’s not even an open world MMO, just an extraction shooter on a small map “. And this is just an example. The players are not happy, and they are making it known.

But then, what exactly is happening? The biggest problem at the moment is the servers which are struggling not to display errors. So yes, as we write these lines, the game is one of the most viewed on Twitch, and tens of thousands of curious people are rushing to try it. However, it is obviously a cold shower for the vast majority of owners of The Day Before. Unsurprisingly, it quickly reached the ears of the studio, which spoke out about the situation.

A catastrophic situation for the studio

On the official Discord of The Day Before, players concretely repeated the same thing. ” VSit’s not an open world “, ” it’s not an MMO “, ” it’s an extraction shooter “. Shortly after the game’s launch and negative feedback, Fntastic temporarily paused access to the Discord server. The community was confused, but the company finally reopened it. However, a moderator first posted a message to report on the situation.

First, it is essential to let things calm down due to the overwhelming toxicity that we currently cannot effectively manage. Second, we need to forward all bug reports to the development team. NOTWe cannot accomplish this if we are not allowed to share these reports.

As you will have understood, the future looks rather dark for The Day Before. Updates are expected, but player confidence will be hard to regain. For the moment, these are the problems impacting the servers which will be tackled before moving on. We will see in the coming weeks how the game evolves. Let’s hope it improves.
