As Vorwerk did with its Thermomix combining a blender with a heating appliance, Kobold (a brand dedicated to floor care) wishes to reinvent the philosophy of floor cleaning with its Dream Team.

This new concept brings together in a single pack the manufacturer’s stick vacuum cleaner, the VK7, with its robot vacuum cleaner, the VR7, whose release in France is imminent. The robot vacuum’s charging station has been designed to also accommodate the stick vacuum for charging. It also has a slot to charge an additional battery for the stick vacuum cleaner.

Launched at €999, the VK7 is one of the most expensive stick vacuum cleaners in our comparison. If you want more versatility, you can turn to a duo pack, at 1449 €, which includes the Duospeed floor scrubber head. After its lab test, the Kobold VK7 demonstrated excellent suction performance on all surfaces. The overall maintenance of the VK7 is greatly facilitated by the presence of a dust bag which does not force the user to have their hands in contact with the accumulated dirt. Not to spoil anything, the device knows perfectly how to manage noise, which is rather pleasant. More problematic on the other hand, the weight of the machine (almost 4 kg) which can quickly tire if the cleaning session drags on. Fortunately, the suction head makes the job easier, as it turns out to be very flexible. So you never skid, even when the turns are very tight.

If Kobold’s stick vacuum cleaner plays the versatility card (by giving the possibility of washing the floor), this is not the case with its monofunction robot vacuum cleaner. The brand explained to us that the washing systems on the robot vacuum cleaners on the market were not yet sufficiently developed and that it refused to integrate them into its model until they were technically up to the requirements. . The VK7 is all about exceptional suction power combined with a wide V-shaped brush, which picks up debris to suck it up in the center.

Two suction channels are provided. In addition to the main channel, the second, located just behind, has no brush and is used to collect fine particles, according to Vorwerk. The robot comes with a charging station which also provides automatic emptying of the collector. It contains a 2.2 liter bag which should be changed every 4 or 6 months depending on usage. The VK7 will be available in France at €1399, on a date that is not yet known.

Serial packs

The Dream Team offer including a VK7 and a VR7 therefore starts at 2499 €. It goes to 2949 € if we add the DuoSpeed brush, to 3149 € with the textile vacuum cleaner and finally to 3349 € with the window cleaner. Those who are already equipped with a VK7 will be able to add a robot vacuum cleaner to their ecosystem to take advantage of the Dream Team: an introductory offer (the price of which has not yet been revealed) should make it possible to equip themselves at a lower cost. during 6 months.

If the concept seems to be inspired by Thermomix (which brings together the best of both worlds by combining mixing and cooking), Kobold’s Dream Team is entirely intended for floor vacuuming. A robot-mop function would have made it possible to complete the set wisely to compete more frontally with the versatile, and also less expensive, devices from firms like Roborock, Xiaomi or Ecovacs. Everything suggests that this will be part of future developments at Kobold, already able to offer these services on stick vacuum cleaners.
