Netflix has announced the end of account sharing in France. What do you think ? Will this decision lead you to unsubscribe? We asked you the question, let’s break down your answers.
This is annoying news: after months of procrastination, Netflix has decided to put its anti-account sharing policy into practice. We have also written an article for you to find your way through the jungle of conditions to find out if you are concerned or not and how it will all work in practice.
All this fuss is leading a lot of users to consider unsubscribing from Netflix outright. For those who have so far squatted on a family or friends account, whether with or without financial compensation, it is necessary a priori open your own account or give up the joys of Toudoum.
A myriad of options
Other options are available to you. You can of course reduce the airfoil and opt for a cheaper subscription, which allows you to have fewer screens simultaneously. Unfortunately, the only subscription that offers 4K is the one for four screens, so if you want to take advantage of it, you will have to pay.
Another idea may be to attempt to circumvent the restrictions. Indeed, Netflix has established rules to allow users to continue to enjoy their subscription while traveling. With a simple email verification, you can allow an IP address to take advantage of your subscription for a month. It’s a safe bet that many of his clever little ones will try the adventure.
Netflix: with the end of account sharing, do you plan to stay subscribed?
The question is difficult, and the answer will be just as difficult. In Spain, nearly a million users have jumped ship since this new Netflix policy. And you, what do you plan to do? We asked you this question last week and many of you responded.
Note that in the meantime, there have been some twists and turns: Netflix would not provide for real sanctions against people who do not comply with the measures announced while MP Louis Boyard (LFI) announced his intention to roll back the company about this question. Despite all this, your answers give some interesting insights.
Indeed, 42.4% of participants say they no longer want to stay on Netflix because the price has become too high to enjoy it with several people. Add to this the 30.1% of respondents indicating that they were leaving the platform since they shared their account with relatives who did not subscribe to the paid option.
Thus, only 9% of respondents intend to keep their main account. 6.3% of respondents are thinking of switching to a cheaper subscription and some of you (4.4%) intend to circumvent the limits.
Finally, note those who do not use Netflix (6.5%) yes who squatted on someone’s account and will now create their own (1.4%).
