The manufacturer will offer in the coming weeks an update of its first folding smartphone.

Last April, the vivo brand announced the vivo X Fold, its first flexible screen smartphone for the Chinese market.

vivo launches like others to attack Samsung on the market of folding smartphones

After several years during which Samsung found itself alone in this folding smartphone market, many brands now want to grab some market share and unveil their proposals.

While the vivo X Fold has not crossed Chinese borders, the manufacturer would be very close to presenting a new model, the vivo X Fold+.

vivo has not yet confirmed anything about its intentions, but several photos, published by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), which is responsible for certifying devices offered by manufacturers, give us see in detail this new device whose presentation seems very close.

A strictly identical smartphone in appearance but a little more powerful

If you already have the design of the vivo X Fold in mind, you won’t have any surprises when you discover this new model. After only a few months since the release of the previous model, vivo has not changed its one-inch copy, both in the dimensions of the smartphone or the location of the various buttons.

The vivo X Fold+ will therefore offer an 8.03-inch screen when unfolded and a 6.53-inch panel on the front. Both screens will be AMOLED with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The technical sheet reveals two new features. The first is the integration of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, replacing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Charging has also been revised with a maximum power of 80 W compared to 66 W on the vivo X Fold. The battery should keep its capacity of 4,600 mAh.

Finally, the photo sensors should be strictly identical with a main wide-angle of 50 megapixels, an ultra-wide-angle of 48 megapixels and a 12-megapixel portrait camera with 2x zoom. Two front cameras, one on the 8-inch screen and one on the front when the smartphone is folded, will complete the photo part.

We will still have to wait a few more days to find out the launch date of this revision in China, but also to find out whether or not vivo intends to launch its device in our latitudes.
