The French in LCS: Toucouille and Hans are full of points

After their three defeats during SuperWeek, Flyquest and Toucouille absolutely had to restart the machine. TSM and Dignitas paid the price for their anger. On the Team Liquid side, there was an important match against the 100 Thieves, who were third at the start of week 5, and a trap match against Immortals. Hans and his teammates did not flinch, delivering two high-flying performances.

Scoring scale out of 10:

  • 0: played Yuumi jungle (why dude, why??)
  • 1: Human Ward
  • 2: Poor performance, unworthy of an LCS player
  • 3-4: Below expected level / made big mistakes
  • 5: Average / alternated between excellent and mediocre
  • 6-7: Solid on his support, the player was one of the driving forces of the collective
  • 8-9: Not content with outclassing his direct opponent(s), the player has had the luxury of making crazy moves
  • 9.5: 1v9 god, with moves at 200 IQ
  • 10: If perfection had a name, it would have its own
  • 11: 1v9 god, moves at 200 IQ while playing Yuumi jungle

Toucouille on fire

The Flyquest midlaner didn’t pick up any MVPs this week, but those titles wouldn’t have been stolen. Against the TSM his Syndra was decisive. The match up was less simple than it would seem. Ahri, her opponent’s chosen champion, has a lot to offer against Syndra. She can push the lane quickly, preventing a safe shift from Syndra, and her ultimate can give her enough mobility to dodge enemy blows and kill the Ionian. Toucouille still managed to hold his own, being present on 17 of his team’s 18 kills, and having inflicted 34% of the team’s damage. Admittedly TSM is not in its best shape, but the challenge was not easy. The tricolor then chose to take Zilean against the Dignitas. Obviously his damage contribution was less than in the previous game, but he was present on 13 of the team’s 14 kills. He stands out as a cornerstone of the team, capable of taking on the roles of carry and mid-support. For the moment his transfer to NA is a great success, but it is next week that he will have to be decisive against the 100 Thieves, to settle comfortably in third place in the general classification.

Hans, the French class

If Hans was less decisive than Toucouille this week, it is not due to their respective qualities as players, but to their teammates. The Team Liquids have all been excellent, and inevitably excellence becomes commonplace. Nevertheless the tricolor ADC released Zeri against 100T, and even if his stats are not incredible compared to those of his teammates (Bwipo 31% of the damage of the team with Gragas tank), we must admit that he did what was expected of him. He won his lane and was present on 82% of the kills, in short, a very high level performance. The game against Immortals was more difficult, especially in early. Nevertheless Hans was able to be patient with his Jhin. Being the main carry of the team was complicated given the opposition composition, especially taking into account the fact that he had no peel for him, CoreJJ’s Nautilus being very important for them. An almost perfect placement, honorable damage, that’s what to remember from his performance. Special mention to Bjergsen’s Viktor, who was one of the keys to Team Liquid’s victory.

Team Liquid and Cloud9 are racing ahead in the LCS right now. But if we talked a lot about C9 for its ability to innovate on League of Legends, TL also got people talking about it this weekend… Bwipo thus brought out a pick from the attic that should speak to the oldest fans.

In more than ten years of League of Legends, Riot Games’ technique, approach and skills have evolved enormously, to the point where some of the oldest cosmetics are now obsolete…
