The Gilded Age Season 2: Launch

The Gilded Age Season 2: Storyline
The Gilded Age season 1 finale discussed whether Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy) will attend Gladys Russell’s (Taissa Farmiga) debutante ball, giving Bertha the high society break she desperately desires .
There was also the question of whether Marian would elope with Mr. Raikes (Thomas Cocquerel). Season 2 will pick up where these stories left off, but the series creators will likely introduce some new characters as well, such as famous black newspaper editor T. Thomas Fortune (Sullivan Jones).
The Gilded Age Season 2: Cast
At the moment it can be assumed that all previous main actors will return. That means we’ll see Louisa Jacobson as Marian Brook, The Good Wife star Christine Baranski as Marian’s aunt Agnes van Rhijn, Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon as Agnes’ sister Ada Brook, DenĂ©e Benton as Peggy Scott, ‘The Plot Against America’ star Morgan Spector as railroad tycoon George Russell and ‘The Sinner’ actress Carrie Coon as George’s wife Bertha Russell.
In addition, season 2 will receive prominent growth in the future. “Dr. House” star Robert Sean Leonard (“Dead Poets Society”) will star in the sequel as Reverend Matthew Forte. The jovial, personable newcomer from Boston is the new head of the church, which is attended by all of New York’s high society. Certainly he will hear something in the confessional conversations.
Laura Benanti (“Younger”) will also star as Susan Blane, a glamorous (and recently widowed) Newport heiress who hires Larry as her architect for a major home renovation. Other new additions are:

- Matilda Lawler (“Station Eleven”) as Dashiell’s daughter
- Ben Lamb (“The White Queen”) as the Duke of Buckingham, who Bertha thinks would be the perfect match for Gladys
- Dakin Matthews (“Desperate Housewives”) as Mr. Winterton, a wealthy widower who will learn a lot about his new, much younger bride
- Rebecca Haden (“Madam Secretary”) as Queen of High Society Flora McNeil
