Referred to as the “No. 1 threat worldwide“, the network of the pirate software “Hive” (the “Hive” in French), used in an industrial way by hackers specialized in computer attacks with ransom demands, made no less than 58 victims (companies or communities) in France : this is what the national police have just announced this Friday, which took part in an extraordinary hunt, carried out alongside twelve other countries under the aegis of the FBI and Europol.

“Hive ransomware, dismantled this Thursday thanks to an international operation, represented one of the major threats to the social and economic sector, both in the United States and in Europe“, underlines the French police who recall that”the first victim was identified in Canada in June 2021“. In France, the first attack dates from July 2022. Since then, investigators have identified 1,500 victims across 80 countries, for damage estimated at 100 million dollars.
