The hardest action scene for Tom Holland? It’s not in Spider-Man but in this movie coming to Prime Video!

You know Tom Holland in the Spider-Man costume, which brings its share of stunts. And yet it is in another action film, which arrives today on Prime Video, that the British actor had his toughest sequence of his career.

He is one of the most popular young actors in Hollywood: Tom Holland started his career very young with the title role in the musical Billy Elliot in 2009 and made a name for himself in the cinema four years later in The Impossible by Juan Antonio Bayona alongside Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.

But it was by landing the role of Peter Parker alias Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the British actor became a planetary star. Even if he has also distinguished himself in dramatic registers such as The Lost City of Z, Le Diable, tout le temps, Cherry or more recently The Crowded Room, Tom Holland is an action star.

If Spider-Man takes him a lot of time, it’s not the franchise that gave him the most trouble. The actor has indeed confided that his toughest stunt of his career was not performed on the set of a Marvel film but in another action film.

Tom Holland’s Hardest Action Scene

In addition to Peter Parker, Tom Holland played another famous character, this time from the video game world: Nathan Drake from the Uncharted video game series, developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. If you missed Uncharted, which was a hit at the French box office, then you can now catch up on the Prime Video platform.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer and released in 2022, Uncharted tells the adventures of Nathan Drake and his mentor Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg), who went in search of Magellan’s treasure thanks to clues left by Samuel Drake, Nathan’s brother. Together, they travel to New York, Barcelona or the Pacific Ocean.

Although he is a big fan of Uncharted, Tom Holland did not know the video game franchise until late thanks to Spider-Man. On the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the actor was lucky enough to have a PlayStation in his dressing room and he was able to familiarize himself with Uncharted games and discover the cult action sequences of the universe.

But he surely did not expect that the filming of these sequences would be difficult when he had to put on the costume of the famous explorer and treasure hunter. In one of the behind-the-scenes videos of the film, Tom Holland revealed that the scene when he is ejected from a plane is the sequence “the hardest he’s ever done”.

“The sequence where we fly out the back of the plane and we come across the boxes – we shot it for five weeks, almost every day”he revealed. “Sometimes I was almost 30 meters above the ground in the air, strapped to a spinning box and then I would hang on until it knocked me off balance and it was really scary.”

For Tom Holland, the fear he actually felt while filming makes this scene all the more authentic. So if you want to (re)discover this sequence, go to Prime Video because Uncharted has just landed in the platform’s catalog.

The Uncharted movie is now available on Prime Video.
