In 2020, boosted by containment measures, the video conferencing application Zoom became one of the most downloaded applications in the world, with more than 500 million downloads. Millions of employees have thus discovered the joys of telecommuting, but today, this same telecommuting does not seem sufficient to ensure optimal performance…. according to Zoom.
Indeed, the company has just announced that some employees will have to return to the office at least two days a week. Only employees living within 80 km of a Zoom office will be affected by this change, while all others will be able to continue working remotely.
” We believe a structured hybrid approach — meaning employees who live near a desk are onsite two days a week to interact with their teams — is most effective for Zoom. “, explains the group.
At the start of 2022, Zoom announced that 98% of employees were teleworking, despite a workforce that had increased from 2,400 employees to more than 6,000 employees between February 2020 and December 2021. An internal survey had also revealed that only 1% of employees wanted to work full-time in a Zoom office.
