Inspired by the legend of Dracula, the film rises to the top, despite low receipts.
The horror movie Hell’s Ball topped the North American box office this weekend for its release despite low receipts, according to Sunday estimates from industry firm Exhibitor Relations. The film raked in $7 million from Friday to Sunday, the worst first place in fifteen months, the magazine variety talking about a “catastrophically slow weekend”. Fortunately for Sony, the production of this feature film cost just under $10 million.
Nathalie Emmanuel and Thomas Doherty are the main actors of this film inspired by Dracula and which according to the expert David Gross “does not appeal to critics”. The action movie Bullet Train comes second with 5.6 million over the weekend. Brad Pitt plays one of the hitmen who try to kill each other on a high-speed train between Tokyo and Kyoto.
With 4.9 million over the weekend, Beastfrom Universal Studios, is in third position, just ahead of Top Gun: Maverick , which still rakes in $4.7 million in revenue after 14 weeks. Following Top Gunalways with Tom Cruise, has already won a total of 691 million dollars in North America and 720 million in the rest of the world.
As for the animated film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the 21st feature film in the Japanese saga, it fell from first to fifth place with only $4.6 million in revenue.
